Battle of the Planets Credit and Title Card Types

The following are descriptions of the opening and closing credits along with title cards for Battle of the Planets episodes.
Notes in each section describe differences.

Opening Credits

Pilot version narration

Battle of the Planets!
G-Force!
Princess, Tiny, Keyop, Mark, Jason - and watching over them from Center Neptune, their computerized coordinator, 7-Zark-7! Watching, warning against surprise attacks by alien Galaxies beyond space!
G-Force!
Fearless young orphans protecting Earth's entire Galaxy! Always five, acting as one. Dedicated, inseparable, invincible!

Notes
Visuals:
Credits start off with a shot of the Space Terrapin
from the first episode. It also includes a unique
Battle of the Planets logo, which was not used at
any other time.

Audio:
Credits contain additional "laser"-like sound
effects at appropriate moments with the visuals.
These effects appear only in this set of opening
credits. The closing credits use the same audio
without narration.

"A" version narration

Identical to the Pilot Version

Notes
Visuals:
Credits start with the Sun rising behind the Earth,
then a shot of the Phoenix streaking away from
camera then rising into the sky. After that is an
outer space image with a white nebula that
approaches camera. Following that, "Sandy
Frank Presents" appears as static text with a
starfield moving behind it. The Phoenix then
streaks toward camera at high speed and the
Battle of the Planets logo appears suddenly in
the middle of the screen.
  Audio:
Aside from the music and opening narration, the
only other additional effect is the whooshing
sound the Phoenix makes as it streaks toward
camera in outer space.

"B" version narration

Battle of the Planets!
G-Force!
Five Incredible young people with super powers - and watching over them from Center Neptune, 7-Zark-7!
Watching, warning against surprise attack by alien Galaxies from beyond space!
G-Force!
Fearless young orphans protecting Earth's entire Galaxy! Always five, acting as one. Dedicated, inseparable, invincible!

Words in red are altered dialogue. This version also omits the phrase "their computerized coordinator" from 7-Zark-7's introduction.

Notes
Visuals:
Credits start with the Sun rising behind the Earth,
then a shot of the Phoenix streaking away from
camera, then rising into the sky. After that is an
outer space image with a red nebula that
approaches camera. Following that, "Sandy
Frank Presents" appears as text in perspective at
the bottom of the screen, then moves away from
camera until it fades out as it approaches the top
of the screen. Then the Phoenix streaks toward
camera at high speed and the Battle of the
Planets
logo appears at the bottom of the screen
and moves away from camera until it disappears
at the top of the screen.
  Audio:
The audio in these credits is identical to the "A"
Version.

Title Cards

Pilot version

Notes
Visuals:
The title is on screen and consists of hollow text over a moving starfield background, which are both unique to this title card.

Audio:
Uses a short, slightly edited segment from the very beginning of a piece entitled "M-1," which was originally recorded for Gatchaman.

"A" version

Notes
Visuals:
The title appears over a starfield in mid-screen after a white flash effect.

Audio:
Uses a short piece entitled "M-51," which was originally recorded for Gatchaman.

"B" version

Notes
Visuals:
The title text rushes towards camera before stopping in the middle of the screen over a different starfield than the A version title card.
  Audio:
Uses a short music sting entitled "Sub Main #1" recorded on 10/14/78.
