EPISODE #11 – SPACE ROCKET ESCORT

Chief Anderson has called an emergency meeting of the G-Force and while Mark is flying there he runs into another plane piloted by Colonel Cronus of Earth’s sister planet Riga. The Colonel’s plane buzzes Mark’s craft playfully before flying off. Mark is worried that it really isn’t Colonel Cronus, but Zoltar once again posing as him.

At the meeting it is revealed that a new spacecraft, the FY-9, will take its maiden voyage to Riga and that the Phoenix will escort it on this mission. But what no one realizes is that the pilots of the FY-9 have been killed and replaced with Spectra agents. On route to Riga, 7-Zark-7 notices that the new ship has changed course and is heading for the Crab Nebulae and Spectra. He is unable to reach the Phoenix because their radio contact has been blocked by a Spectra force field. None of our heroes realize that they are heading for Spectra rather than Riga. Suddenly, a squadron of Riga Fighters attacks the new ship and attaches a bomb to its undercarriage.

Mark and his friends see what is happening, but they think that the Riga planes are Spectra forces in disguise. They continue to follow the FY-9 to the Spectra base. Only then do they realize that this is indeed their friend Cronus and that he has willfully destroyed the FY-9 so that it won’t fall into enemy hands. The G-Force launches the Phoenix away from the doomed spacecraft seconds before it and the Spectra base is destroyed.

Chief of Security Anderson has assigned G-Force to escort Earth's newest and most sophisticated spacecraft, the FY-9, as it is being delivered to Col. Cronus on planet Riga. Unknown to Mark and his friends, the crew of the FY-9 has been replaced by Spectra agents, who divert the ship, closely followed by Phoenix, to a volcanic, underground Spectra base on the alien asteroid, Omega. G-Force must escape this entrapment before a time bomb goes off and erupts the volcano. Alan Young is 7-Zark-7 and Keye Luke is Zoltar.

They jam all communications channels to keep G-Force unaware of their actions until they can trap the G-Force Phoenix in the FY9’s powerful tractor beam. G-Force is to escort the new FY-9 craft as it is delivered to Earth's sister planet, Riga. But unknown to them, the FY-9 has been hijacked by Spectrans who divert the ship to their base on the planet Omeg II. En route, Cronus attaches a bomb to the bottom of the FY-9 to keep it from falling into Spectra's hands. G-Force, who land at the base is still unaware of what's going on, but must trust Colonel Cronus to help them escape before the bomb detonates.
