Re: New Gatchaman Comic Series from Mad Cave Studios
I remember Steve Orlando saying it was a mini, and it looks like the TPB release was tentatively set for September on book sites. I guess we'd have to wait for full April 2026 solicitations or further ones to find out how many issues, if it'll be the usual 4 they've had for minis so far.

Re: Art differences between series
One of the important factors especially for II, style-wise, was that aforementioned animator drought going on even if they managed to get some people aboard and also outsourced work to South Korea. A lot of people left after Yoshida's death and were kind of scattered to other productions, and there ...

Re: New Gatchaman Comic Series from Mad Cave Studios
Yeah Bobkat, I totally get you. Without wanting to cast any aspersions or on anyone in particular, I've noticed in some interviews there seems to be kind of a surface-level understanding of some things in the series and that had me a bit "oh dear" but still wanting to keep an eye out either way. It ...

Re: Art differences between series
Heh, well with 80s Jetsons, if Rosie is doing more in the plot or you see a little guy named Orbitty, they're from the 80s. The syndication prints all give title cards including Orbitty though, which confused me so much as a kid watching CN (the animation differences of course, a whole other thing ...

Re: New Gatchaman Comic Series from Mad Cave Studios
Yeah, I'm wondering what the deal with Bunn is too, they don't seem to have remarked on it much. There was a podcast months ago where he seemed to speak as if he was still involved with turning in scripts, so I've wondered if he just took a break or there's alternating, or if something came up ...

Re: New Gatchaman Comic Series from Mad Cave Studios
Yeah, like I said in the spoiler thread, there seems to be an issue with arc 3 not fully feeling connected and actually flowing from arc 2 in regards to the developments which makes for the most severe problem. I'm always weighing the pros and cons with the series, hoping there are more "pros" but ...

Re: Mad Cave Gatchaman Comic Series Discussion (Spoilers Allowed!)
So, these three OCs at the end of issue #15 definitely pose an interesting question as to who exactly they are and what their role in further issues will be. Some kind of nature gods? Aliens? It makes me think of how Rei Kosumi vaguely figured there was an alien race that opposed Selector, but this ...

Re: New Gatchaman Comic Series from Mad Cave Studios
Well, now you definitely have me curious and waiting to get it. I was already wondering how the villains they've had so far could fit within the series and where we'd mentally place them, especially if Tatsunoko is so serious about things fitting in there. Guess the creative teams want to really ...
