Spectra is especially cunning in these eps and exceptionally mean. What's worse, Chief Anderson manages to trap himself in a room that's on fire! Can our heroes save him and have a successful mission in time!? :o

It's thrilling, it's exciting and we again get a peek into the team dynamics and how much they'll go to the mats for each other. Of course, there will be teasing later on.

Presenting "Invasion of Space Center" and enjoy! :)

E91-92: Invasion of Space Center

****Part 1****

Act One

7-Zark-7 keeps an eye on activities throughout the galaxy but sometimes there are lulls. This is one such time – Zark practices his G-Force moves in order to stay in shape. 1-Rover-1 keeps watch and after Zark makes his moves, Rover helicopters and drops onto the floor. While unusual, it might come in handy to break into a floor somewhere. Susan calls from planet Pluto breaking the lull. She reports that Spectra has launched a ship and it's "invading the outer limits of the Federation." On top of that, they aren't trying to hide their movements, which is "very odd." Zark asks if the Space Patrol has been alerted and they have. Zark catches a glimpse of the ship as it heads to Earth but Zark thinks it's only a diversion. He has detected something has landed quite near Center Neptune.

A ship cruises the surface as a Spectran craft surfaces nearby. Another Spectran agent on board the ship watches through binoculars a green goon wave at him. The agent walks on the ship making his way to the engine room. He plants a device before being challenged by a worker. Once out on deck, the agent jumps overboard and picked up by the Spectran craft. He watches the ship continue on before joining the green goons below. He begins a video conference with Zoltar who calls him "Lothar." Lothar reports the signal is "clear and strong" and the ship is only a test run. Zoltar launches a batch of unarmed missiles to ensure they will follow the signal. The test is successful.

G-Force hangs out in their Ready Room with Princess and Keyop playing music, Tiny eating space burgers, and Mark and Jason play ping-pong. Zark calls in with a Red Alert and reports that Zoltar is up to his old tricks again. With something strange happening in the ocean not far from Center Neptune, the team is ordered to report to Chief Anderson for a briefing. They drop out of their Ready Room to proceed to the briefing.

Chief Anderson tells the team the cruise ship had a hole ripped into it but no one was hurt. The weird attack confirms that Spectra is involved. Zark's scanners picked up a strange object landing in the ocean prior to the attack. Chief Anderson surmises that the cruise ship was merely a test run and that Spectra has another target in mind. Jason asks if Center Neptune is the target and the chief says it's possible. The chief then tells them their mission is to find Zoltar's base and destroy it before he is able to strike. Mark says he's had a strange feeling all day and Princess seconds it saying she feels the same. "Do you?" Mark asks in a sleazy way, as if it's appropriate! Anyway, Mark says he keeps seeing Center Neptune in ruins. Chief Anderson ends the briefing saying they are depending on him and G-Force. Princess asks Mark if he's okay and he snaps out of whatever weird world he's been in. The team departs Center Neptune on their mission while Chief Anderson makes a radio call.

The Phoenix launches from Center Neptune in search of Zoltar's base. Keyop jokes about falling asleep with Princess chewing him out while Jason calls out that the target area is two kilometers ahead. Mark orders Tiny to dive and they drive through the ocean. Meanwhile, the Phoenix is being watched by Spectra with a pair of goons reporting to Zoltar that G-Force has taken the bait. Zoltar tells them when the Phoenix is close enough, he will launch the crab attackers creating a diversion so the agents can complete the real task.

On board the Phoenix, Princess picks up the crab attackers as they move into position. Mark tells her they're ready for them. When they have visual, Jason runs up to the red missile button saying fast, "Gotta get 'em!" Mark holds him back and Princess notices another ship taking off in another direction but she's unable to make it out. The ship attaches itself to the Phoenix. Mark makes a call to Chief Anderson to tighten security with the chief acknowledging and the team returns.

Zoltar laughs as their plan is working perfectly to infiltrate Center Neptune. On the way back, Keyop teases Princess about seeing things but she's insistent she saw something and it wasn't "a big fish." Zark backs up Princess saying he had something on his scanner but lost it. Lothar watches as Center Neptune grows larger in their screen and he pep talks his team as the Phoenix docks. The Spectran ship detaches and hangs out near Center Neptune sending the coordinates to Zoltar. Zoltar is very pleased and says once the homing signal is set; he will send his armed missiles there.

Act Two

Zark paces in Nerve Center because the Spectran ship has been found – it's slipped into Space Center and could be a threat to any of the facilities in the underwater complex. G-Force is awaiting word from Zark, who flies to his monitors, to determine what's going on. They're ready to act but he can't find it even using Thermo-probes, phaser beams and sonar amplifiers.

At Space Center, the Spectran craft surfaces. When one of the goons looks around, he reports that all is clear. Lothar and two of his men depart the craft to find just the right place to set the targeting device. They steal some smocks so that they're less likely to be detected. One of the guys puts on some glasses asking how he looks. Lothar says, "Like a Zenobian owl after a bad night!" The goon tosses the glasses aside because he can't see out of them real well anyway.

In Chief Anderson's office, he briefs the team that Zark has put security forces on high alert. He tells them it's a sprawling complex and it will be difficult to find the ship. Princess wonders how they were able to get in. The chief explains the submarine was able to slip in due to the electronic warning shields being lowered when the Phoenix entered. He surmises that it slipped in while the shield was down and could be anywhere inside the complex probably heading for its objective. Keyop calls it a "oldTrojan horse trick" but Chief Anderson says not quite, "but close enough." Chief Anderson says they have to wait, but Mark wants to go searching because waiting could be too late. The chief says it'll be like "finding a needle in a haystack." Just then, a radio call is received – the submarine has been found – at the Research Building dock.

Chief Anderson manipulates the camera and zooms into the submarine, verifying the find. The team is in shock but ready to run out. The chief warns them to be careful because a major power supply for Center Neptune is in that building while Mark says it must be a suicide mission due to the warning shields around the complex. Princess tosses out the idea that they might be defectors and downplays how much damage they can do but the chief says Zoltar can do a lot of harm from his hidden base. Tiny rues the fact they didn't blow up the caves when they had a chance. Refocusing, Chief Anderson tells them their first priority is to find the homing transmitter like the one found on the cruise ship. Chief Anderson believes the group is planting one of those at Research Building. G-Force leaves to complete their task as Chief Anderson thinks to himself, "the fate of Center Neptune is in their hands."

The Phoenix launches with Jason saying the odds are slim in finding that transmitter with Keyop calling him an "optimist." Zark likens the search to a game of "hide and seek" and tries to help the team but Research Center is huge. Mark runs around the facility looking into various rooms. Zark says every time he locates the three invaders, he can't contact G-Force. Princess searches various computer equipment and in panels. They're not the only ones as several people help in the search.

The three Spectran operatives run through the center and find the perfect spot for the transmitter. Lothar says one direct hit from their new photon-charged missiles will destroy the center. He places the transmitter, activates it and runs like crazy back to the sub. On the way, they run into Mark and Princess and try to divert them. However, Mark and Princess realize they're the Spectran operatives so they give chase. Confronting the escapees, Mark asks if they're going somewhere. Lothar rips off his smock and throws it at Mark who throws his bird boomerang. A fight ensues as Lothar and the goons try to shoot but they're disarmed quickly. However, Lothar has a surprise literally up his sleeve as he throws an explosive dart that barely misses Princess. It's enough to allow the three to escape but Mark and Princess aren't deterred.

On board the Spectran submarine, the fourth operative positions the craft for a quick load. Lothar and his men climb aboard and they report to Zoltar they were successful. Meanwhile, Mark and Princess barely miss the operatives and know their only hope is to find the transmitter. Their teammates search for Zoltar's base aboard the Phoenix and Jason thinks he might have "a fix." Tiny says Mark sounded worried but Jason stays focused in stopping Zoltar who was hiding in the sea bed and watches the Phoenix go by. Excitedly, Zoltar launches his missiles toward the Research Center and the complex.

At Research Center, Princess says there's something originated from Sector 5. Mark notes this is the same area where the crab fighters launched. Mark relays the information to Chief Anderson who confirms the incoming radar returns are missiles and that nothing can be done now. Zoltar enjoys that the plan is working perfectly, calling it "Spectra's finest hour." Zark frets that the missiles could take out the whole Space Center complex including Center Neptune and he's still unable to contact G-Force. Zark thought he would never see the day that Zoltar could penetrate Space Center's defenses but here they are as the missiles close in. Zark isn't planning on moving until G-Force and Center Neptune are safe. Rover is willing to help him out in the endeavor.

****Part 2****

Act One

Zark paces and says things are "very hectic" in Nerve Center and that Mark, Princess and Chief Anderson are trapped in Research Center. Zark must try to figure out a rescue for them as G-Force continues to try to find the transmitter. Zark flies to his monitors and intends to call Susan to ensure the attack isn't part of a larger galactic invasion. However, Susan calls him because her paranormal receptors in tune with his "Supra-Modulators" and knows what he's thinking. Susan was built in the Quatro-Tubor Labs and has the sign to prove it. She reports there are more rockets that have been launched from Spectra.

Zark tries to inform G-Force of the new data. Meanwhile, an evacuation order goes out for the power center and all personnel get out before the first rockets reach the complex. A slew of missiles are en route and they cause a bunch of damage. The center is flooded and smoke billows at the surface of the water.

Inside the center, Chief Anderson calls out as Mark and Princess watch the carnage. The chief calls out Center Neptune's defense forces and to put shields in place to protect the complex. More and more missiles hit the Research Center but most of the complex is spared. There are still people in Research Center and Chief Anderson orders a complete evacuation. One man reports that Sector B is cleared. Research Center begins sinking as Mark urges the chief that it's time for them to go. Princess adds that the Phoenix is calling in. Chief Anderson doesn't move and tells Princess to ignore the radio call because there's nothing they can do and they're safe.

The water pressure causes implosions, flooding and explosions while Chief Anderson discovers they are cut off from Center Neptune. He sends Mark and Princess out to find the transmitter as he stays to destroy Top Secret files that he doesn't want falling into Zoltar's hands. Mark and Princess run out as the Center continues to slide into ruin.

On board the Phoenix, Jason tells Keyop to keep trying to raise Mark and Princess. He also tells Tiny that they're going back. Meanwhile, Mark and Princess survey the ruins and realize their only way out is G Section.

Chief Anderson sets to destroy the documents and tosses a lighter on the pile. However, a huge tape drive falls! Elsewhere in the Center, Mark and Princess watch as a science submarine tries to escape. When a crewman offers them a ride, Mark tells them that the pair will go to the control room to open the door. He turns to Princess and says it's right up her alley to which she replies, "Thanks a lot!" Once the door opens, but it's only partially open and the submarine rams its way out and takes off.

After the submarine is off, Mark tries to call the chief with no response. His leg is trapped under the huge tape drive. Meanwhile, the Phoenix goes to Research Center with Keyop and Tiny gasping in surprise at the destruction. Tiny has to "wiggle" the Phoenix in and he tries to maneuver the ship.

Zoltar is pleased at the outcome and plans a final assault on the Earth's key defense installation. After knocking all the chess pieces onto the floor, he orders his men to "battle stations" and fires more missiles from stingray mechs. Meantime, Mark pounds on the door to rouse the chief who they still haven't heard from. A fire rages inside the room and Mark knows that the only ones who can save the chief is them – Mark and Princess. Just when their options are out, Jason calls Mark! Mark tells Jason what the deal is: they're okay but they need help to get the chief out.

Act Two

Zark is at his monitors and calls all Earth's defenses reporting that Research Center is taking a beating and missiles are inbound for Center Neptune. He wants all shore batteries notified. Zark's keyboards spark, forcing him to step back. He also directs crews to shore up the shields and "shore up all breaks."

At Research Center, Tiny says Mark and Princess are in Sector B while Keyop looks at the radar screen to see "a million missiles." Jason wants to know where they are as Mark is desperate to know what's going on. Jason wants to blast the missiles but Tiny informs him there is no room to move around. Jason tells him to try anyway but all anyone can do is to wait for the missiles' arrival. Tiny tries to bash his way through with the Phoenix. What he causes is for Research Center to physically move just as the missiles arrive.

On board a stingray mech, Zoltar watches the total destruction of the center. The Spectrans celebrate as Research Center hits an underwater ledge. Mark and Princess still wait outside the office where Chief Anderson is trapped. Princess figures this is the end but Mark still has faith in the others to get out of this mess. He grows angry thinking about the times he had Zoltar in his hands and let him go. Princess then tells him she enjoyed working with him and that out of all the team, she liked him best.

On board the Phoenix, Jason feels the movement as Research Center slides toward the bottom of the sea floor. The Phoenix is no longer upside down because that's how it landed in the dock when the center hits the ledge. Tiny flies the Phoenix out of the dock and back in again as it's surrounded by water. Jason says they have to go in as Mark tells him they're in "B Section." Jason and Keyop start swimming. However, Keyop runs out of air and gets his wing tips stuck under debris. Jason has to go after him but nearly runs out of air too. Finally, Zark was able to contact the team and directs Mark to their location.

Mark and Jason free Keyop and head to B Section where Princess waits on them. Meanwhile, Research Center sinks ever lower when they arrive. Mark tells Jason to open the door and he torches it open. Mark runs in after calling Tiny to meet them. Mark tells Jason that the chief will be okay and Tiny provides their ride by finding a dry area where they can jump in. Mark carries the chief while Jason carries Keyop and they all jump in. Tiny moves away from Research Center as it sinks ever deeper.

Chief Anderson wakes up and asks about Keyop. Jason answers he "swallowed a little too much ocean." He also asks about the center and tells the team they have to shoot a missile to destroy what is left of Research Center because it cannot fall into Spectra's hands. The Top Secret files are too valuable and Zark has duplicates of everything. The team is reluctant to turn back because they barely escaped before. Keyop wakes up then Mark fires the bird missile, which destroys Research Center into tiny bits of rubble. The Phoenix breaks the surface with a red sunset.

Zark says he is already working on plans to replace Research Center and the rest of the complex is fine. He is a bunch of jangled circuits after the whole affair and he tells Rover the robot dog he's a source of comfort. Zark is in the middle of his computations when Mark and Princess stop by. Zark is oblivious to their presence at first then he visits with them and tells them he has completed plans for an even better Research Center. Mark and Princess sing his praises with Princess adding a kiss, which causes an actual short circuit!

Thanks Bobkat!

One of my favorite character moment shots is in episode 92.

Jason and Keyop risk it all to get to Mark, Princess and Anderson... Keyop almost dies, Princess is wondering where the Chief is while Jason's still gasping for air...

botp92b.jpg
"He wasn't in forward computer room, so, he must be in there..." Mark answers...

botp92a.jpg
...then delegates. "Open 'er up, Jason!"

The resulting look from Jason makes me laugh every time I see it!
