Hi Cure DragonEagle,

I have to thank everyone. I really wanted to make a topic that would attract a lot of people to post, but also stop posting so much so I dont make the forum drown in my posts. Thank you everyone.
I'll sure write up more when I'm able. As far as posting - please, do all you like! That's what the boards are here for. There are lots of topics to discuss and it's always fun to see more conversation.

Please keep posting with topics for conversation. This forum is the last one available to us for Gatchaman discussions. Which is a shame really.

Yes, if Gatchamania is really dead (and taking with it so many years of conversation and fanworks), this might be what we got for that kind of outlet. Cure DragonEagle, you've really given some nice prompts for discussion, it's inspiring and I'd like to do so too sometime.

When it comes to each series too, again in comparing, it can be said that each of those three has their own vision shaped by their own directors; Hisayuki Toriumi said he didn't really care for the little he saw of II, but felt relieved he could leave Tatsunoko and move on in his career and compared how animals don't feel comfortable in environments without their own smell, and how a director's given work has its own "smell".
But at the same time, each succeeding director wanted to do do their own thing and not feel too weighed down by the previous, even if that was an issue with II in trying to make it its own new installment while honoring what came before. Fighter was meant to be "back to basics", but still had to contend with continuing and building on the previous narratives.

But of course then, you have to kick up to producers, sponsors, or what other parties desire as well or compromise, which seemed to be something that some Tatsunoko employees vented off about as the 1970s went on about how it was harder to capture the more pure visions they wanted. Still, it's because of sponsors (better or worse) that some shows wound up the way they did, especially ones like Godam or Gold Lightan.

Agreed regarding Sparkling Neon
Also no pressure Jason, LOL

There is a reddit as well if anyone needs another outlet fix.
