Yeah Bobkat, I totally get you. Without wanting to cast any aspersions or on anyone in particular, I've noticed in some interviews there seems to be kind of a surface-level understanding of some things in the series and that had me a bit "oh dear" but still wanting to keep an eye out either way. It's like some people see Gatchaman and think it's merely a cartoony and corny/grim and depressing dichotomy, and then try to go through a checklist, which well, it feels like this arc was doing if it was one writer working off another's outlines for where they were going as well.
The pause issues have been fun, but I hope they aren't the only bits of levity.
One thing with these villains too, is how even in one episode of the series, characters that were double-agents or had conflict going on still had more personality in such limited story than what's been going on with the trainees. There's slow-burn, and then there's just people falling so flat. There definitely has to be a good balance struck in tone, themes, and the characters' motives and voices.
And yeah Stardust, you'd think (and well, hope) that if Katse's had this backfire, it'd be pretty opportune to see the classic "X mad at Katse failing again" sequence and their dialogue, which might not be as interesting in still form but nailing the dialogue or having a panel of his eyes burning red or just vanishing on Katse the way he'd do would have such familiarity.

Hi Stardust,
Thanks for all the comments and for sharing your thoughts on everything.

I wish I could comment on specifics, but I really can't unless the comic creative team has said something first. Comic information is their news to share. Tatsunoko is fully involved with the series.

That is fine, Bobkat told me. I had forgotten you're involved with it.
Re: New Gatchaman Comic Series from Mad Cave Studios
So I reread the ending to 15 and want to add a few more thoughts on things I noticed. So spoiler alert.
Spoiler
1. Pay attention to Raven's costume, it's very much like the teams, with the wings and such, even the bird name theme.
2. Katse says something that I feel is very much foreshadowing, "the future is promised for no one."
3. My final thought, those guys at the end say 1 year has passed, in the series, the war is about 1 year. So I'm wondering, are these guys from Selectol?
Just some food for thought.

The Science Ninja Team’s 'day off' at a mountain ski resort shatters when Galactor unleashes a towering Snow Hare mecha, engineered to trigger a killer avalanche and erase an I.S.O. facility from the map. As the slopes erupt into gunfire, photon blasts, and mecha fire, a mysterious gold-gloved snowboarder steals their victory and vanishes into the storm. By nightfall, one thing is clear: someone even deadlier than Galactor is hunting in the snow."
