Hi all,
Here's another quick update from
Mad Cave!
They have now added the
Gatchaman digital/physical subscriptions pre-order page I hinted at a few days ago, which they are calling, "GATCHAMAN VOL. 1 SERIES SUBSCRIPTION | 5 DIGITAL ISSUES + 1 PHYSICAL COLLECTED EDITION."
This will allow you to receive digital editions of the regular
Gatchaman series issues 1 - 5 as they are released. After issue 5 is released, the issues will be collected into a physical trade paperback, which will then be mailed to your home address.
None of the one-shots or mini-series will be included with this offer.
The subscriptions will be priced at $24.99. You can
pre-order here.

There's an episode of the Tradecraft Podcast featuring Tommy Lee Edwards, that unveils some more information about the project such as what Tatsunoko allowed and couldn't allow them to do (no backstories?) as well as that Dr. Nambu will also be getting a one-shot somewhere down the line.

Well, I appear to have missed my opportunity to get hold of issue #0 on Free Comic Book Day!
So, I hope everyone else is better organised than me, and has ample opportunity to grab their copy.
(I have one day off this week - today - and had every intention of trekking all the way into the city to the one comic book store participating in FCBD to get a copy. But exhausted me overslept, tried to get chores done before leaving the house, then got struck with a brutal headache. So when I contacted the comic book store online to enquire . . . all their stock of Gatchaman #0 had already gone.)

Wow, sorry to hear that and I hope you're feeling better. Don't worry, I'm positive you'll get a copy.
I was able to venture out to see how things looked today. I made it to six different shops and only the final one had any
Gatchaman issues left (and that was because they limited customers to one copy of one book). Most other places allowed people one copy of three or four different titles. Fortunately I went out with a friend and his two daughters, so we got a couple copies of
Gatchaman.
The long line down the alley beside one of the stores in the morning
The only place that actually had
Gatchaman on the shelf in the early afternoon
When I was able to ask employees at different stores about
Gatchaman, most said it was one of the first titles to go out of stock this morning. So it was either really popular, or there were fewer ordered. I don't know.
If anyone wants to talk about the content, should we open a thread that allows spoilers? Those who don't have the issue might not want to know what's inside yet.

Hi Everyone,
I ended up going by two comic store to find one this afternoon. The first one had given all their copies away by the time I got there, while the second one had a handful of them left. I haven't had a chance do do more than flip through it briefly, seeing enough to confirm that the third story ended exactly as I expected it to from the preview pages. I won't say more since people might not have read it yet. I figure I'll have time to read the entire comic sometime tomorrow, but at least I was able to find it! I hope others here were able to get it as well!
