7-Zark-7 calls Susan with a triple Red Alert for a change! The only survivor of the planet Zenos has escaped the Institute for the Study of Ancient Civilizations on Earth. The survivor, called Zeno, was found wandering his planet by an early space patrol. He was brought back to Earth, but he was essentially a prisoner and refused to talk with anyone. Now he is free and returning home.
Zoltar is very eager to get his hands on the Zenobian for a secret he possesses. One that Zoltar thinks will allow him to conquer Earth and then the very universe!
G-Force heads to the Constellation Cygnus where planet Zenos is located. For security reasons, Mark is going to work alone on the planet's surface, while the rest of G-Force will remain in orbit until they're needed.
Later, Mark is tinkering with an airplane on the planet when Zeno comes up and orders Mark at gunpoint to fly the plane. No sooner are they off the ground than the plane develops a problem. Mark regains control but Zeno thinks Mark was just trying to trick him. Soon after, the plane has an oil pressure problem and Mark convinces Zeno the only way to survive is for him to bail out and parachute to safety. After seeing his selflessness, Zeno trusts Mark and jumps. Mark is able to land the plane but the hard action disables his Wrist Communicator. As he's wondering where Zeno landed, a fleet of Spectra ships comes in low, flies right past him and descends into a nearby canyon.
7-Zark-7 contacts G-Force to tell them he’s lost contact with Mark. On Zenos, the Spectra ships join up to form a Gila Monster robot and begin searching for Zeno. Mark locates Zeno in an old town just as the Spectra men also find him. They tie up both Mark and Zeno and put them into a deep well there until Zeno is ready to talk. In the well, Zeno tells Mark he is from another dimension and that the water is actually draining his life force. Mark struggles free, opens his Wrist Activator and performs a special underwater transmute into his G-Force uniform.
Mark gets to the surface and confronts the Spectra men inside a saloon. The saloon is ultimately destroyed, but unfortunately that was where Zeno needed to to access a doorway back to his own dimension. Mark carries the weakened Zeno up the canyon wall, heading back to the airplane, but the Spectra commander follows him in the Gila Monster. As Zeno tells Mark he has no way back to his dimension, the Gila Monster makes it to the top of the canyon and its commander steps out intent on getting Zeno’s secret. With a last burst of energy, Zeno tackles the Spectra commander and the two men tumble over the side of the canyon along with the Gila Monster. It explodes in a massive fireball when it hits the ground, killing Zeno.

Name: Giant Gila Monster
Type: Giant Mechanical Monster
Body Shape: Gila Monster
Origin: Planet Spectra
Sighting: Planet Earth
Weapons: Unknown
Flight Capable: Yes
Crew: Yes
Status: Destroyed |
This Spectra monster could attack as a large machine or break down into about seventeen smaller components, each of which could fly and cause destruction. The machine included an infra-red scanner. Using its claws, it could climb up vertical rock walls. The Gila Monster is destroyed when Zeno attacks its commander. The machine falls backwards, comes apart into its individual components and tumbles down to the floor of a deep chasm where it explodes. |

Using
a special method, G-Force can transmute into their uniforms underwater
Note: Although not mentioned in the episode's dialogue, scripts confirm this machine is called the "Giant Gila Monster."
Note: This episode contains another example of an unquestioned death in Battle of the Planets. 7-Zark-7 tells us Zeno died. But the commander of the Gila Monster and conceivably its entire crew of about seventeen Spectrans probably also died when the Gila Monster crashed and exploded at the bottom of the chasm.
