1-Rover-1 is 7-Zark-7's trusty robot companion. 7-Zark-7 thinks early on about asking for a dog to keep him company 21. He obviously makes the request, because 1-Rover-1 soon shows up. 1-Rover-1 is a small, golden-yellow colored robot that resembles a dog with two antennae ears, four legs and a tail.

Like 7-Zark-7, 1-Rover-1 shows a range of human emotions. 7-Zark-7 mentions that like himself, 1-Rover-1 is programmed for friendship and not programmed to hate, but when it comes to Zoltar, he comes close 2. 1-Rover-1 also indicates that he is looking forward to biting Zoltar 55. He likes to run out and play in the rain and come back in just covered with rust 30. The little dog takes special pleasure in being able to meet G-Force when they return home from successful missions 55 and he is very proud to be a member of the team55. Once when 1-Rover-1 is distraught over 7-Zark-7 having a world named after him, 7-Zark-7 comforts him by saying the brightest star in the galaxy is named after him, the Dog Star 3.

Although he is a robot, 1-Rover-1 likes to eat and snack on things that 7-Zark-7 provides him. In fact, he seems to be hungry all the time, even when 7-Zark-7 has just fed him 48. Some of his favorite meals and snacks include Robot Puppy Chow 11, nice, fresh size 20-D metal washers with holes in the middle that go "crackle" and "pop 11," big dishes of bolts all covered with crunchy nuts and topped with whipped grease 48, bowls of crunchy nuts and bolts all covered with oil gravy 87, good and crunchy mixed nuts and bolts 37, 95, grated iron filings 100, kibbled carpet tacks 26 and sometimes even his own food dish 69! 1-Rover-1 especially likes juicy wrenches 97, but 7-Zark-7 thinks he'll have to stop giving him these. When he's not chewing on them 1-Rover-1 has learned how to unscrew nuts and bolts. One time 7-Zark-7's whole ready room collapses (unseen) 26, and another, 1-Rover-1 manages to unscrew his own nose (also unseen) 48!

1-Rover-1 needs anti-freeze shots to go into the snow and ice 37. His eyes glow when he is alarmed, which he demonstrates when 7-Zark-7 wonders if 1-Rover-1 could be taught to swim like a seal... not to worry though, 7-Zark-7 would have him rust-proofed first 45. 1-Rover-1 is surprisingly strong. 7-Zark-7 mentions that he can bite through a steel bar 55. He chews his way through a steel wall once (unseen), which is bad because they're underwater 43.

1-Rover-1

1-Rover-1 munches on a favorite treat

Though he cannot talk, 1-Rover-1 communicates with an electronic-sounding beep-bark that 7-Zark-7 can interpret. 1-Rover-1 was not manufactured at Quanto-Tobor Labs like 7-Zark-7 and Susan, he was made at Laboratory K-9 8. 1-Rover-1 was not built with a self-destruct button 27 and he is not programmed for electronic repairs 31. His tail is made from a lightning rod 30 and it is able to receive interstellar signals 89. 7-Zark-7 reads from the book "The Care and Maintenance of Your Pet Robot Dog" that If 1-Rover-1's tail is unable to properly receive interstellar signals, then he should first unscrew his nose, remove his ears, and... before he can finish reading the procedure, 7-Zark-7 faints 89.

The little robot teases 7-Zark-7 about his abilities sometimes, indicating he is a terrible dancer 88 and sings off-key 8. 7-Zark-7 teases him back though, saying 1-Rover-1 would make a good bat boy, if he wouldn't eat all the bats 63.

1-Rover-1 knows about Mark and Princess' feelings for one another, since he was present in the Think Tank once when they talked about it. But Mark trusts him to keep the secret 23. 1-Rover-1 agrees with Mark that Princess is the best-looking girl in the whole Solar System 31.

1-Rover-1 is intelligent. He passes along facts to 7-Zark-7 once in a while, like when he reminds him that a formula Zoltar gets away with is faulty 14. He also reminds 7-Zark-7 that he gets airsick when he flies higher than the room he's in at Center Neptune 93. 1-Rover-1 once convinces 7-Zark-7 to trust his FOSDIC and notify Chief Anderson of his concerns on planet Odin 51. 7-Zark-7 has occasionally left 1-Rover-1 alone in the Think Tank after missions are over so the little dog can listen for red alerts 23.

1-Rover-1 is surprisingly skilled at tasks that appeal to him. For instance, 7-Zark-7 allows him to take over control to guide G-Force through the Canis Major (Sirius) area. He shows a special knack for guiding them through there since it is the Dog Star 10. 1-Rover-1 wants terribly to visit Canis Major some day 71. He has friends out there and he sometimes receives calls from them on 7-Zark-7's Ready Room intercom 86.

Like any good dog, 1-Rover-1 knows a number of traditional tricks, like sitting up 16, and rolling over in all directions 33, 95. He will also bring 7-Zark-7 his towel after oil showers 23. He likes to play fetch the wrench 43, But he also does some specialized feats like flying 25, 48, 16 (backwards), 59, 71, 86, 97, 100, 33, 46, 23, 39, 91, 95 (for a long time). computer tricks 37, subtracting numbers - especially astronomical figures 95, standing up and saluting like G-Force 37, 23, 54, 48, 46, 39, 37, 25, 18, 17, 4, and martial arts 91. 1-Rover-1's special technique involves flying up quickly, then dropping to the floor with a thud. 7-Zark-7 thinks it's a little unusual, but may come in handy for smashing through a floor 91. Mark once visits to see some of 1-Rover-1's special tricks after the little robot returns from a refresher course at the Computerized Canine Kennel 95.

1-Rover-1 is a loyal and loving robot 71. He's a perfect companion and 7-Zark-7 says he is always helped by 1-Rover-1's comfort and reassurance 92.

Script writers refer to 1-Rover-1's bark as a "Beep-Bark."
