Mark and Princess study the surface of Planet Spectra 101.

"To use one of your quaint expressions; 'This time we meet on my turf!'" Zoltar 57.

Spectra is both the name of the planet and the main ruthless organization that opposes the actions of the Federation of Peaceful Planets. Planet Spectra is located deep within the center of the Crab Nebulae, fifty thousand light years from Earth 21. Although it closely resembles Earth, it is millions of years older 61. Spectra is protected by a Neutron Force Field 32. The planet is dying and is in critical need of natural resources 61, 62, 36. Conditions on the planet are so bad that its leaders are desperate 62. They need what Earth has and will never stop attacking until they are able to rob everything 61.

Not much is known about its general citizenry or its history. It seems that the populace of Spectra is behind their leader's work, they don't seem to be too bright and they are violent. The structure of the organization is not entirely clear, but it consists of the Spirit as leader, Zoltar who answers only to him, then a selection of other known ranks such as Generals, Lieutenants, Majors, Captains, Colonels, Commanders and Soldiers. Most of the time a Captain or Commander will be in charge of a Spectra monster and/or base. It is odd that the Spirit is Spectra's leader when it appears he does not come from the planet 44.

A known Spectran General is Gorak 73. Known Spectran Lieutenants are Gannart 77, Zoltar's own sister, Mala 31, 70, Kobul 98 and Fromo 98. Known Captains are Morlak 39/40 and Oneeda 96. Mark also refers to Lothar as a Captain 91/92. Known Commanders are Gorok 1, Cabal 62, Blug 98, Gartz 54, Gola 54, Grutch 42, Lotak 60, Muto 65, Sheytan 44, Skuldoon 18 and Kinatch 17. Known Colonels are Tu 90 and Gore 89. Barlek is a Spectra soldier who hopes to be promoted to Major (along with Commander Lotak) 101. Hostile aliens from other planets that form alliances with Spectra often hold ranks as well, such as Commander Antoff 10 and Commander Typhon 9.

Spectra soldiers all dress in the same green and grey uniforms, some carry automatic pistols and others carry machine guns. They appear to be numbered in some manner as Mark sees "No 7" inside the mask he takes off a soldier 59. They are promoted from within their own ranks 101, 89. They can also be rewarded with medals for doing good work 36, 61. Zoltar once offers both a medal and a promotion for the person who can capture Colonel Cronus 11.

General Gorak is once seen leading a bizarre, unexplained ceremony with a gathering of Spectra soldiers on planet Leucadia. He and the soldiers dress in dark robes and colored masks while chanting "Praise Spirit." During this ceremony they prepare to roast the captured, tied-up Keyop over a spit 73.

Zoltar does not seem too overly concerned about wasting his personnel on missions. Several times he has been seen fleeing the scene in escape ships 21, 24, 74, 100, 63, 69, 79, 67, 80, 41, 55, 61, 73, 48, 16, 54, 87, 45, 86, 96, 3, 14, 22, 33, 72, 89, 8, 35, 97, 43, and 99.

The goal of Spectra's forces through the Spirit is the downfall of the Intergalactic Federation of Peaceful Planets. To do this they attack Federation members over and over. They seem to focus on Earth 1, 21, 36, 62, 2, 75, 67, 80, 18, 41, 55, 24, 30, 74, 10, 16, 54, 83, 12, 84, 9, 37, 45, 59, 35, 49, 71, 86, 4, 14, 97, 60, 88, 90, 100, 65, 77, 23, 63, 72, 89, 98, 8, 17, 31, 101, 26, 52/53, 70, 39/40, 91/92, 95, but they do make targets of other important Federation planets, installations and allies, especially Riga 15, 44, Space Island 25, Vega 48, 96, Exor 68, Mir 5, Zarkadia 3, Aquatica 22, Arcturus 32/33, Odin 51, Zeebor 93 and Cretola 43.

They try infiltrating governments 51, 52/53, kingdoms 35, 77, the Federation 49, 54. and even Research Center itself 91/92. One interesting ploy Spectra attempts is try to ruin the Federation's economy by stealing all of its gold from the Intergalactic Federation Bank on Earth 6.

G-Force has gone to Spectra on occasion, both on offensive maneuvers 9, 57, 99, and to rescue people the Spectra organization has kidnapped 21.

The organization is willing to do anything in its power to gain victory. Spectra has slave planets 101, 70. A couple of the named ones are Omeg II 11 and Sigma Minor 88. Their intergalactic slave system is masterminded by an agent Barzok 86, who intends on turning Earth into a slave camp. They have forced inhabitants of their slave planets like Korag 11 to conduct missions for them.

Spectra often resorts to tactics on a personal level like subterfuge 3, kidnapping 57, 41, 2, 87, 47, 37, 97, 70, 79, murder 35, blackmail 14, theft 11, 16, hypnosis 60, brainwashing 77, 63, exploitation 69, 95, 52 and impersonation 47, 35, 97 to get what they want.

Their main method of coercion though is the use of gigantic machines. These usually consist of various air and space craft 62, 41, 48, 59, 35, 88, 23, 51, 93, 52, 70, animal or insect-themed monster machines 1, 75, 58, 57, 80, 18, 25, 55, 61, 73, 30, 68, 74, 10, 54, 83, 87, 12, 44, 84, 5, 37, 45, 49, 71, 4, 14, 22, 60, 90, 32/33, 46, 43, 72, 98, 8, 17, 101, 26, or human-shaped machines 58, 25, 24, 3, 43, that they use to destroy property and locations. Sometimes, the monsters they use are organic in nature 15, 65, 39/40.

When not using giant machines, they usually have some other nefarious device on hand to counter G-Force and their allies, like the Cryno Gun 57, the Brain Warp device 80, various bombs and explosives 73, 63, 31, Plutonium X 3 and Rockets 52/53.

Once in a while, they use smaller machines 21, 36, 80, 18, 27, 2, 6, 10, 47, 84, 59, 49, 22, 72, 99, 17, 91 95 planes 75, 73, 44, 45, 65, helicopters 73, 37, 96, 60, 77, 101, subs 42, 5, 45, 86, 14, 89, 91/92, motorcycles 39 or snowmobiles 37, all with mayhem as their goal.

Spectra has a special talent for recruiting disgruntled scientists and engineers from the Federation 21, 33, 84, 88, 98, and they also think nothing of stealing the Federation's own technology to use against it 16, 58, 65.

Most of the time they do not give warnings of their attacks, yet there have been times when they have been over-confident and have alerted the citizens of specific areas that they will be attacking 68, 32/33.

For a planet that is so short on natural resources, Spectra seems to have an endless supply of robots, monsters and machines that it can throw at Earth and its allies. Zoltar once even claims "Our supply of weapons is inexhaustible and our genius is unequalled 36!" Spectra gains some of their resources from other locations, like planet Riga, that they have used as their main outpost for raw materials for years 15.

Perhaps the most bitter part of the entire conflict is that the Federation is willing to freely share its scientific advances with anyone who asks 1. Spectra is more bent on conquering than cooperation however. They'd rather steal what they need than trade for it.

That doesn't mean Spectra is above making allies though. Several times they have teamed up with other planets and rulers 5, 51, 30, 88, 10, 52/53, 9, always with the goal of taking down the Federation in mind.

For all their efforts and plans, Spectra doesn't seem to gain much ground. They manage to obliterate several cities, energy complexes and the like, but are generally turned back from their plans. Their greatest success probably comes when they are able to destroy the Federation's Research Center Complex on Earth 92..
